Evaluation Of My Double Page Spread

Evaluation
Throughout this task I think that my research was accurate as most of my facts came from BBC news’ webpage. Some of the facts that I did include in my article were from the peers in my class as we all shared information. Most of the facts were the same as what I found out but I didn’t know where the information from my peers were found. I found some of my facts from a visual website so I did not copy and paste into my article because of this I reworded some of the facts but kept the numbers the same.

For journalistic skills I did find it hard to get into a creative mind, most of my research was statics so it was hard to be creative with facts. I put in rhetorical questions because I feel like it is important for my audience to question their views and opinions. The length of my article was fair but if the article was about something I was passionate about I would have written more.

Using the software InDesign was different to any other software I have used before. It was easy to pick up and understand. I didn’t have any problems using the programme and I would use it again. I used inDesign to create a background for my article. I was able to put in large titles for my story line which was about Illegal downloads within to the UK.

I would like my article to be printed out in a magazine. I would like this because the target audience for my magazine is 16-45 years old. People that are older are not the generation of using technology. I think that it is more efficient having it printed out whereas if it was online people would have to zoom in a zoom out. If the article is online you have to access the internet to download it. However, if it is printed out you can purchase it from a store. Some people may argue that you’d have to go to the shop which is a long process but you can simply subscribe for copies. Many magazine companies make money for printing, although it is expensive to money they get for putting in advertisement and they get for sales makes up for it.  For all these reasons I would prefer to have my article printed out in a magazine.

For my audience feedback I got my friend Zainab to look at my work. Zainab said that layout of my work was basic but appealing. She said there could be more text but it is not drastically missing out on a lot of text. Zainab said that I captured the theme of Cosmopolitan magazine and if my article was in a magazine or newspaper she would read it.

The targets I would set myself is more writing to fill up my page. I think that the creativity of my work is simple but still appealing and for this reason I would do it the same because no one likes an over whelming page. I would make up my own magazine so I could have the theme colours of my choice. I would also research into the magazine so I know where the journalist would put their name after writing the article.
